purpose - intention - gratitude
Welcome to our story.
Welcome to our podcast.
THE P-I-G is a heartfelt podcast created by us, “The Sisters,” (Kellie Straub and Erin Thomas) to honor the extraordinary life and legacy of our mother, Marsha (Guarda Gobbo) Thomas. Her story is one of resilience, love, and purpose—from founding KPRN-FM public radio in Western Colorado and expanding NPR's reach to rural communities across the state through the development of the Colorado Public Radio (CPR) network, to facing three separate cancer diagnoses with unmatched courage and grace. Though she passed away in September 1994 at the tender age of 47, the courageous choices she made during her final months ensured a legacy that would live on through her family and community. Thirty years later, her actions caught the attention of Chris Howard, Executive Producer with Mosaic Entertainment Group, and we are collaborating on an incredible project to bring her inspirational story to life.
In conjunction with that project, we are launching a podcast where stories of life, love, loss and legacy are shared. Each heartfelt episode of THE P-I-G will feature personal memories, meaningful conversations, and powerful guest interviews, highlighting resilience in all its forms—from the loss of loved ones and relationships to the rediscovery of identity and dreams.
With PURPOSE, INTENTION, and GRATITUDE at the core of every episode, THE P-I-G invites you to reflect on what legacy means in your own life. Our journey of healing and reconnection as daughters and sisters is the heart of this project—and we hope to inspire and connect with others who are navigating their own paths.
We invite you to join our mission as we honor the stories that shape us, strengthen us, and remind us that—even in loss and during grief—there is love, purpose and meaning. Whether as a listener, guest, or supporter, you are an essential part of this journey.
Together, let’s explore the legacies we carry and the stories we leave behind…

About “The Sisters”
Born and raised in Grand Junction, CO, Kellie and Erin have shared a lifetime of memories shaped by resilience, love and a commitment to family. Though their lives have taken them in different directions—Kellie remaining in Colorado with her spouse, Marcus, and Erin building a life in Austin, TX with her partner, Jason—they have always maintained a deep connection, despite the natural ebbs and flows of sisterhood.
Over the past 22 years, they’ve worked together on multiple business ventures, balancing their professional pursuits with their shared values and unwavering dedication to family. Kellie, a health and wellness entrepreneur and Genetic Health Practitioner, and Erin, a business operations professional and freelance editor, bring complementary strengths to their collaborations. As moms, their greatest priority is their children (Reis, Savannah, Lily, Weston, and Hadley)—and now, Kellie’s beloved granddaughter, Reign—as they work to build a “family fortress” for future generations.
THE P-I-G is more than just a project; it’s a testament to the rediscovery of their sisterhood. Through shared stories, moments of laughter and tears, and newfound empathy, they’ve reconnected not only with each other but also with themselves. Their mission is to help other families and siblings strengthen their bonds, find healing and create their own legacies of love, resilience, and commitment.
Together, Kellie and Erin hope to inspire others to bridge gaps in their relationships and reconnect in meaningful ways—because at the heart of it all, family is everything.

“This story is, without a doubt, about Marsha, but it is just as much about Kellie and Erin—their sisterhood, their strength through trauma, their perseverance, and the legacy they continue to build. They honor their mother not just by surviving, but by rising after every setback and failure—fighting through their personal battles to ultimately find each other and leaning on one another to form an unbreakable bond. That is the story. A story of resilience, love, and legacy. A testament to who they are & who their mother raised them to be.”
